Objective: In over 50% of patients with end-stage renal diseases suffering from anemia due to chronic renal failure complications is notable. Methods: We studied blood indices and types of anemia in these patients at Shahid Beheshti hospital in Babol. This is a retrospective study on 61 patients. Findings: According to the findings, 90.2% of the patients had hemoglobin levels lower than 10 g/dl. Of these, 87.3% were normocytic, 10.9% microcytic and 1.8% macrocytic. Conclusion: It should be noted that 47.5% of total patients had Hb levels of 8 g/dl. As the odds of death in such patients (Hb of 8 g/dl) is shown to be increasing, the factors that improve anemia in patients on hemodialysis should be evaluated by prospective studies. |
